All are welcome to join us for worship Sundays at 11:00 AM. The service will be multi-platform, both in-person and streamed onto Zoom. A recording will be available on the church’s YouTube channel no later than the following Tuesday.
“Our Unitarian Presidents” with Jim Caldiero
As the presidential election looms, we’ll explore our Unitarian presidents. Among the religious denominations in the U.S., none has been more influential in electing presidents, given the size of our denomination. At the height of our membership in the 19th century — one million members — we elected 4, maybe 5, U.S. presidents. By contrast, the Catholics, with 40 million members have only elected two.
About Jim Caldiero: Born in New York City, Jim did undergraduate and graduate studies in public administration at the City University of New York and NYU. After working for Mayor John Lindsay, he joined the Social Security Administration where he served on the senior staff, directing the agency’s software testing activities. He has been active in UU social justice serving as the National Co-Chair of the UU Service Committee’s Volunteer Network. He currently serves as the lead advocate for immigration reform with the UU Legislative Ministry of Maryland. Married to his wonderful wife, Dorothy, they reside in Ellicott City.
