Our theme for this month is “Awakening.” Often, when we think of “awakening,” we think of something brand new; an unknown miracle we have discovered. I invite us, instead, to reflect on the words by Alan Watts, “Awakening is not the creation of a new state of affairs but the recognition of what already is.” There is already so much beauty and goodness inside each and every one of us, and also in the world we are immersed in. Sometimes, we simply miss it. This month, I invite you to notice, to cherish, and to celebrate.
Sometimes, awakening comes when we realize, “I am enough just as I am.” Each one of us is just we who are meant to be in this moment. If this feels tender to you, I invite you meditate on the following poem:
