We meet on the second Saturday of the month, normally. We are going to use casual restaurants (such as LeeLynn) or coffee shops as meeting locations at the time announced for each session.
Please let Ken H know if you plan to attend at least three days in advance so I have time to firm up dates/times/locations with those who intend to attend.
Next meeting, on Friday March 14, at 2 pm or so, at Lee Lynn’s, we will discuss a popular book club selection: The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new housing development, the last thing they expected to uncover was a human skeleton. Who the skeleton was and how it got buried there were just two of the long-held secrets that had been kept for decades by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side, sharing ambitions and sorrows”. from Goodreads)
Let Ken know if the time or date doesn’t work and we’ll adjust if possible. HCPLS has lots of copies, but only a few on the shelves.
What’s on your book list? Let Ken Hart know what you are thinking about, and contact Ken with any questions. Ideas for essays especially welcome.
