The People’s March: January 18 10:00-3:00
If you believe that decisions about your body should remain yours, that books belong in libraries, not on bonfires, that healthcare is a right, not a privilege for the wealthy; if you believe in the power of free speech and protest to sustain democracy; or if you want an economy that works for the people who power it—then this march is for you.
This march reflects many of the values we hold dear as Unitarian Universalists, from affirming the worth and dignity of every person to promoting justice, equity, and the democratic process. These shared commitments call us to action, to stand together in defense of our rights and our future. As UUs, we are uniquely positioned to bring our principles to life through collective action, and this march is a powerful opportunity to do just that. We invite you to join us for this event, where we can embody our faith in community and solidarity, standing up for the values that unite us all.
We’ll meet at GREENBELT METRO STATION at 8:30 and take the GREEN LINE to ARCHIVES NAVY MEM and walk about one mile to the WASHINGTON MONUMENT where the march will begin. If you would like to arrange a carpool to Greenbelt Metro, please email socialjustice@channingmc.org to coordinate.
